Sandoval
de la Reina is a small village,
located in the northwest of the Spanish province of Burgos.
It's divided in two sides by a B road
[C-627]
that goes across
the place:
The highest is informally called La Granja("The Farm") and
the rest of "El Pueblo"
("The Village")
is the lower Sandoval with several unofficial neighbourhoods,
El Barrio de los Ricos
("The neighbourhood of the Rich"),
El Andrajo ("The Rag"),
La Calle Real
("The Royal Street").
Sandoval de la Reina has had a municipality until
the 80s, but due to its current decreasing size it has become part of the
Villadiego district, being Sandoval 10 km distant from Villadiego,
the capital.
Surname Sandoval: It comes from Castile, from this village
of Sandoval de la Reina (in the administrative area of Villadiego
-Burgos – Spain)
